What is Alpha Omega?
|
Alpha Omega is not a college social fraternity. It is a
professional fraternity with over one hundred chapters, comprising a
membership of over 12,000 fraters. It is represented in the USA, Canada,
Europe, Israel, South America, Australia, South Africa and many other
countries. | |
|
The objectives of the fraternity are to promote the profession
of dentistry, to establish a spirit of fellowship and to develop high
standards of scholarship among its members. Although Judaism is one of the
founding principles of Alpha Omega, it is a nonsectarian organization and many
of its members are not Jewish.
|
Through a varied program composed of fundraising campaigns,
community oriented dental projects, and many other functions, our members
broaden their exposure to dentistry beyond the basic courses provided by the
curriculum at The State University of New York at Buffalo - School of Dental
Medicine. | |
|
We regularly hold social activities including monthly brunches
with our alumni chapter, entertain guest speakers, enjoy parties, barbecues,
and best of all, our annual dinner dance. This variety of extra-curricular
gatherings provide an essential and welcome break from every day academics.
|
Some of the immediate benefits that one can receive from Alpha Omega include old examinations, teeth necessary for study, and class/ lab/ clinic advice from Alpha Omega instructors and students. A few of the long term benefits include placement assistance in post-graduate residencies, and Associate Programs |
